SONA 2009(HRM)

''Nakinabang ang pitong milyong entrepreneurs sa P165 billion in microfinance loans. Nakinabang ang sandaan libo sa emergency employment ng ating economic resiliency plan. Kasama natin ngayon ang isa sa kanila, si Gigi Gabiola. Dating household service worker sa Dubai, ngayon siya ay nagtatrabaho sa DOLE. Good luck, Gigi.''

"Microfinance is the supply of loans, savings, and other basic financial services to the poor."
Currently, there is a global depression worldwide. With this, the government can help the people through implementing rules which can alleviate their economic status. One way of helping the constituents is by allocating budget to finance the small and medium entrepreneurs. One of this is the microfinance loans which enables the poor households with financial and non-financial services.
P165 billion worth of microfinance has given benefits in almost 7 million entrepreneurs.
The Philippine Microfinance Industry:

• Made remarkable progress the past ten years
• Reached a large number of the poor
• Market has grown
• Large unmet demand for microfinance services among the poor
• At end 2002, 25% of 4.3 million poor households reached
• Mostly married women
• MF clients clustered around the poverty threshold, including the vulnerable non-poor
• Estimated leakage to non-poor clients was 20%

More to the point, through The P300-billion Economic Resiliency Plan of the country aimed to boost the country's economy in 2009. Particularly, the Plan aims to create jobs, protect the poorest of the poor, returning OFWs and workers in export industries, ensure low and stable prices to support consumer spending, and enhance competitiveness in preparation for the global rebound. Also, the resiliency plan expects to guarantee sustainable growth and attain the higher end of the growth targets for the year.

"Sa hirap at ginhawa, pinapatatag ang ating bansa ng ating overseas Filipinos. Iyong padala nilang 16 billion dollars noong isang taon ay record. Itong taon, mas mataas pa. I know that this is not a sacrifice joyfully borne. This is work where it can be found in faraway places, among strangers with different cultures. It is lonely work, it is hard work. Kaya nagsisikap tayong lumikha dito sa atin ng mga trabahong maganda ang sahod, so that overseas work will just be a career choice, not the only option for a hardworking Filipino.”

In this area, it focuses on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). In the case OFWs, the government is trying to produce jobs which generate greater earnings so that it will just be a career choice and not the only option for a painstaking Filipino in search of a better life, which PGMA stressed out during her SONA.

We cannot deny the fact that OFWs have a big help in the advantage of the nation’s economy. It records $ 16 B last year and is expected to grow this year.

With this the government imposed different programs for the protection and advantage of our compatriots. It is significant since it concentrate on the needs and problems of our Filipino workers in other countries which are a big help in the development of the country’s economy. It implies that the government values the OFWs and envisions for a better quality of life of our fellow OFW's.

''Pardon my partiality for the teaching profession. I was a teacher. Kaya namuhunan tayo ng malaki sa education at skills training. Ang magandang edukasyon ay susi sa mas magandang buhay, the great equalizer that allows every young Filipino a chance to realize their dreams. Nagtayo tayo ng 95,000 na silid-aralan, nagdagdag ng 60,000 na guro, naglaan ng P1.5 billion para sa teacher training, especially for 100,000 English teachers.
"

Education is fundamental to progress and development of our society.

“Education is the key to success”
As we can notice many Filipino’s are intellectuals in many aspects. Filipino’s excelled in many fields like science and technology, agriculture, sports, music and many others. Through education the government can develop different skills of a student. And effective learning has many factors to be considered like conducive learning environment, effective educators and a lot more.
In connection with this, the government imposed different programs which can improve the education of the country. Basically, the government has constructed classrooms which serve as their second home for learning and training up teachers to be more competitive and proficient in their field of specialization.

With this, we can expect that the quality of education of the country is world-class.
